For the first time since 1938, there is a danger that electicity will once again become a luxury only the rich can afford. Rising energy costs, increased environmental laws, and roadblocks to construction of new power plants and transmission lines threaten to drive the price of electricity beyond the means of power customers.
Seventy years ago our parents and grandparents turned the lights on. Don't let our generation be the one that turns them off.

What can you do?
Become informed. A good staring point is https://www.ourenergy.coop. Learn the issues involved. We must balance our need for environmentally sound policies with affordable electricity.
Contact your state and federal senators and representatives. Let them know your concerns. They may have heard only one side of the issues and are unaware that some policies can result in pushing the cost of electricity beyond the reach of Americans or may result in not enough electricity to go around.
