The present economic downturn affects our community in many ways, mainly the loss of jobs by businesses and industries which are downsizing or shutting down. In order to attract new businesses and industry to our area, the workforce must be ready to provide potential employers with capable and trained workers.
In an effort to encourage potential employees to meet the qualifications that Little Ocmulgee EMC and other businesses require, we strongly recommend that all applicants be certified by the Work Ready Program. This program has been established by the State of Georgia to be used as a measuring tool when new industry and businesses are looking to locate in the state as well as providing current employers with a useful tool for reviewing applicants. It is a free assessment that has been provided to the workplace of Georgia, and is available locally at the Southern Campus of the Oconee Fall Line Technical College, 560 Pinehill Rd, Dublin, GA, and at the OFTC Little Ocmulgee Instructional Center at 140 N Hwy 441, Helena, GA.
