Little Ocmulgee EMC has the advantage of being centrally located, with service personnel on call twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. So while a response to a problem may take hours from other utilities, Little Ocmulgee EMC typically has personnel on the scene in thirty minutes or less. And since our warehouses are located locally, we are able to provide materials for major repairs in less time than our competitors.
As part of our commitment to service, Little Ocmulgee EMC employees a SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition) system to monitor and control our electric distribution system. This allows problems to be diagnosed even while service personnel are being dispatched to trouble calls.
All of our line personnel are ITS certified, which allow us to work in coordination with Oglethorpe Power Corporation and Georgia Power to restore power to transmission lines. This allows us to more quickly restore electricity during an outage.
